Bottom sieves are made of stainless steel, their hole shape is conidur (trapezoid) up to 2.0 mm, square above that. Hole size: from 0.25 mm to 20. mm.
The size of the sample passing through the sieve is usually as follows: 80% of the sample will be below half the hole size of the sieve, e.g.: the sample passing through a 1 mm sieve is approx. 80% will have a particle size of less than 0.5 mm.
The remaining 20% will have particles smaller than this, but they can be larger than 1.0 mm if the fibrous sample passes through the hole along its length.
