To carry out the microbiological purity tests, a sample must be taken from a surface of 100 cm2. Only sterile instruments should be used for sampling to ensure the accuracy of the test result. Preparing the tools takes time, and maintaining their sterility is a rather difficult task. Determining the right size sampling surface is a problem, for this an easy-to-use template is needed. All of this represents the biggest problem with external tests, where the tools have to be delivered and the sample has to be returned to the lab. A tampon placed in a plastic tube can be a solution - and this is very convenient from the user's point of view - (see above), but the size of the cotton is not sufficient to cover the 100 cm2 surface to be tested.

The TiMi set consists of the following components:

• sampling sponge, size: 76 × 37 mm, thickness: 15 mm
• sampling template, plastic, autoclavable, useful surface: 100 cm2
• sampling gloves for holding the sponge, one pair
• hermetically sealed sampling bag with label
• outer protective bag

The sampling process is simple: open the sterile packaging, put on the gloves, open the sample bag and take out the sponge, which is moistened with a buffer solution (can be ordered separately). The template is pressed to the surface, the sample is collected with the sponge, then placed back in the bag and sealed. The place, time and number of sampling can be indicated on the label. We also offer a buffer solution (peptone water) in convenient packaging for sampling.
