Ice formation on the bottom of tubes and racks is a common problem in everyday laboratory work, especially when stored in nitrogen gas phase. To solve this problem, LVL offers chemical roller and chemical-free electric defroster for standard SBS racks. Both designs quickly and easily remove ice from the bottom of the racks to make the 2D codes on the bottom of the tubes readable.

Defrost roller

A construction consisting of 3 rollers. The first roller is filled with the user-selected ice-dissolving liquid (e.g. isopropanol, ethanol). For optimal results, it is recommended to cool down the ice-dissolving liquid before use. The second and third rollers are used to dry the rack or tube. The rack simply needs to be pushed over the rollers and it is ready for reading.

Electronic defroster

For sustainable, chemical-free defrosting. Similar to the roller version, simply slide the desired rack along the top to acquire the ready-to-read status. Compatible with all SAFE 2D racks.
