Material: high purity (>99.8% SiO₂) fused quartz. It is a white, translucent material with a particularly high usage temperature. The crucibles are solid up to 1,730ºC, while they are malleable above 1,900ºC.

The substance will never be in a liquid state, it changes from its malleable form to a vapor state at higher temperatures.

It has a very low coefficient of thermal expansion and excellent solvent resistance.

The bowl with the code number 301.RC78 was developed for heating tobacco.
