It is primarily suitable for heating and mixing culture media in microbiological laboratories. The light emitted by the infrared lamp is absorbed in the particles of the culture medium, the heating - unlike traditional heating plates, where the part in contact with the heating surface is the hottest - takes place in the entire depth of the liquid, significantly reducing the risk of burning culture media.
The heating plate of the device is the CERAN plate manufactured by Schott, which has also proven its extremely high load-bearing capacity in other areas. In addition to the very attractive design, it is important that the CERAN sheet is chemical-resistant and can withstand a temperature shock of 700°C, as well as being extremely easy to clean. The infrared heating system – produces extremely fast (up to 40% faster than conventional heating) heating, so it is also energy-saving. The heating and stirring speed can be continuously adjusted by adjusting the rotary knobs. The heating surface heats up evenly, but the surface remains cold outside the circle indicated on the plate. A flashing light warns of the heat of the plate.
