The SI500's pull-out/slide-in drawer-like shaking table is extremely versatile: most Erlenmeyer flasks can be held with the 4 rubberized bars, and many tube holders can be attached to the shaking table in one move.
Shaking table capacity for Erlenmeyer flasks: 12 x 250 ml, 9 x 500 ml, 6 x 1000 ml. The tube support racks, which can be ordered separately, are connected to the platform in the patented Magnalock system. The special feature of the stands holding 1.5 ml, 15 ml and 50 ml tubes is their tiltability, the angle of inclination of the tubes can be set up to 30°. The racks are made of stainless steel.
The SI505 incubator, developed from the SI500, can accommodate four microtiter plates or two microtube racks. A higher rotation speed is required for effective mixing of the microtubes, so the shaking tray can also be set to a value of 1250 rpm. Another important feature is that the humidity can be kept at an even 80%, and thus sample loss during incubation can be reduced if water is placed in the tray at the bottom of the device.
Both devices perform continuously accelerating (from zero to the desired speed) orbital shaking, the speed is controlled by a microprocessor. The shaking speed, temperature and timing can be set on the digital (LED) control panel. With the timer, you can set a shaking time of up to 9 days from 1 second or continuous shaking. After the end of the program, the device will beep. If the door of the device is opened during operation, the vibration stops automatically and the alarm device displays the error message "door" on the display in addition to a sound signal.
The door and side walls of the incubator are equipped with smoke-colored, transparent acrylic windows, which ensure excellent transparency, and the tests can be observed from all directions. Homogeneous temperature distribution inside the chamber is ensured by the built-in fan. The heating is also controlled by the microprocessor, the set and current temperature is shown by a LED display. The incubator is also equipped with adjustable overheating protection for maximum safety. The device is equipped with a USB computer connector, through which long-term control and display of the temperature of the incubator is possible with the software included with the device, e.g. during weekends.
